Connection, collaboration and coordination is the central purpose of CRN. The greater good is always larger than the individual or a single organization. When we combine forces and work together we will achieve great things.

Our goal is to work with our house of faith partners in support of Central Florida’s homelessness response system.  Working alongside organizations like the Commission on Homelessness and Homeless Services Network, the faith community can play a vital role in the region’s mission to make homelessness rare, brief and one-time.

Our first step is to work with our faith partners to understand how the network can help support each house of faith’s specific ministries and goals in support of families either at-risk of or experiencing homelessness.  We understand that your time and resources are limited, and therefore we work with our faith partners to determine how the network can facilitate working smarter rather than harder, employing an effective faith-based coordinated and collaborative network, so more families are served.

The next step is to work with our faith partners to identify the resources and other provisions available through the congregations in our community.  These organizational and congregational resources, once identified, are entered into a dynamic database.  The technology platforms allows for the capture of details of all participating faith partners and community providers, together with the collection of services and resources provided through the combined houses of faith and their congregations, e.g. transportation support, assistance with utility payments, food pantries, and much more, and in the not-too-distant future will include details of congregants willing and able to donate free professional service support such as auto repair/maintenance, plumbing, legal advice, credit advice, etc. to help families avoid entering the homelessness response system, and achieve economic stability.

In addition, CRN offers free training to volunteers in the faith community to equip them with the knowledge and tools to support and walk alongside families who are at risk of or experiencing episodic homelessness. From understanding how best to help, to how to capture a family’s story and assess their needs, to helping a family create a plan and goals, to connecting them to the appropriate resources, services and programs offered in the community, to helping the families establish positive relationships and community connection that empowers and enables the families to improve the quality of their lives and achieve economic self-sufficiency.  These valuable volunteers support the work of our House of Faith Partners and Provider partners to help extend and expand their ministry reach and offer the relational support to the families that all research shows is critical to achieve change in one's circumstance.

Community Resource Network is committed to making homelessness the exception in our Tri-County community; improving the quality of life for those who experience housing instability, homelessness and poverty, and creating a better community for all.

Join the many houses of faith already working with us; we need your partnership to achieve this vision. We encourage each house of faith partner to identify volunteers within its congregation, so that the families we serve can be connected into the community through the volunteer’s house of faith.

Benefits of joining the Network:

  • Expand your effectiveness in helping homeless families become self-sufficient.

  • Link with other houses of faith to leverage your collective strengths to meet the holistic needs of families you work with.

  • Find what you need, offer what you have; access to a technology tool that expedites matching families to the resources they need.

  • See where families are being helped to ensure we equitably and effectively serve all those in need.

  • Free training in multiple areas for all houses of faith who join the network.

  • Record and see the impact your house of faith is making and the positive long-term outcomes achieved as you walk alongside families, with the collaboration of the faith community.

  • Join a network of faith-based organizations who are working to make a greater impact together, than we can apart.
